Help Build a Bottle School

With your contribution of 1.5- or 2-liter plastic bottles, which will serve as the "hollow" portion of makeshift hollow blocks you can help build this...

And with a little architectural and decorative magic, turn it into this...

Very impressive!

This is another pioneering project by multi-awarded social entrepreneur Illac Diaz, who has made a name for himself by developing sustainable housing solutions for homeless and the lack of infrastructure in developing countries.

And to create awareness for this new project, his team will organize a Bottle School Run ...

Bottle School Run

... because it seems that people prefer to talk about running events than about socially relevant ideas. So, why not take advantage of that by linking the useful idea with what people are already talking about? Brilliant!

Unlike many of the half-hearted and seemingly insincere (in my opinion) "run for a cause" races going on almost every week, this one is rather different because you get to see concrete (and plastic) results.

I'm coordinating with the organizers to know where we could contribute plastic bottles without participating in the run. Hey, not everyone's into running.

But if you really want to run, I'd say go for it!

Registration for The Bottle School Run starts on May 29, Saturday and lasts until June 11, Friday. Registration centers are:
